After spending some time in 1972 working weekends at 1260 WNDR and my first full time on-air job (1974) at WBUD in Trenton, NJ - I decided to get a 'real job' with more stability.
The kids were coming along and I needed to make sure we didn't become a traveling DJ family. I ended up with a long challenging career as the public relations director at Verizon.
In 1978 Bob Carolin called me to do weekends at 620 WHEN. I had my own slot (Sunday nights) for a number of years and enjoyed every bit of it.
A cool story: I still can't believe this but it's true - I was the last DJ to sign off from the WHEN studio on James St. Not only that, but I got in the car at midnight and drove
to the all new Liverpool facility and had the honor of signing on as the first DJ to use the new studios. What an honor. I think of all the great talent that was on the air on
James St thru the years and I was the one to sign off the old and sign on the new.
