Pam started out as Program Director Deane Parkhurst's
secretary before he moved her to traffic and continuity when she showed a flair for
writing and the ability to keep track of 62 WHEN's increasing commercial load.
According to Deane, "Pam was really a fantastic worker. No matter what got tossed on our little programming staff she handled it and handled it well. When Burch (Sweet Dick) first came on the air the
phone lines were jammed with irate listeners. Pam took as many calls as I did, maybe more, and probably did a better job placating the callers. She probably could have even done Bobby Ardner's job (chief engineer) too.
She went on to work at Meredith's home office in Des Moines after she became
engaged to a medical student who was living there at the time."
Editor's note: Hmmm? I may be mistaken but isn't that a Royal manual typewriter I'm seeing there? .......... I know. I know.
