Millard Ferndock

Richard A. Dennie Jr., 69, of 2627 Nunnery Road, Skaneateles, died Thursday at St. Luke's Hospital in Jacksonville, Fla. A native of Fair Haven, Mass., he lived in Skaneateles since 1967. Mr. Dennie was a salesman for Nolan Supply Corp. of Syracuse. He was the radio personality "Millard Ferndock" on WHEN-AM radio with Phil Markert. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a former member of the Borodino Fire Department and member of the Masonic lodge in Fair Haven, Mass. He was active in the Lakeshore Club of the Little League Program of Skaneateles and served on the Austin Park Commission in the village of Skaneateles. He attended Skaneateles Presbyterian Church. He established "Millards at the Summit" restaurant in Borodino in 1984. Surviving are his wife, the former Linda Day; a son, Richard of Skaneateles; five daughters, Cheryl Estabrooks of Nantucket, Mass., Kelly Day of Potsdam, Kim McLean of Skaneateles, Kathe King of Buffalo and Kara Leubner of Owasco; a brother, Robert of Bradenton, Fla.; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services are private. Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Norris Funeral Home, 33 North St., Marcellus.
