Donna J. Speziale Richards, 43, of Liverpool died Sunday in Bradenton, Fla.
Born in Syracuse, she was a graduate of Solvay High School and Onondaga Community College. She was a public relations specialist for the Small Business Administration. She previously was a journalist at WFBL-AM and WHEN-AM, where she was news director for two years, and at WTVH, Channel 5. She won an Emmy in 1988 as a member of a team of reporters for coverage of the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103. She also won awards from the Associated Press Broadcasters Association, the state Broadcasters Association and the Syracuse Press Club. She was a member of the Syracuse Press Club and a former member of the Radio-Television News Directors Association.
Survivors: Her husband, Donald; two stepsons, David and Paul Richards, both of Baldwinsville; her mother, Mary Speziali of Liverpool; a brother, Amos "Skip" Speziali of Bradenton, Fla.
Services: 8:30 a.m. Thursday at Bagozzi Twins Funeral Home and 9 a.m. in St. Cecilia's Church. Burial, Assumption Cemetery. Calling hours, 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, 2601 Milton Ave., Solvay.
